Phillips Training Ride
Series For the 2009 BPMS150 - Register NOW!! (click link
below) Registration for the 2009 ConocoPhillips training program is now open. You must be a member of Team Texas Children’s to sign up under the Core Team. What that means is do not forward the registration to any friends that are not a member of Team Texas Children’s as we are required to notify ConocoPhillips of anybody that registers who is not on our team. For all of those team members who have not participated in the ConocoPhillips training program there is a series of 12 regular rides along with two beginning rides for novice riders. The rides start out short and flat and get progressively longer and hillier as the series goes along. This program really emphasizes cycling safety and cycling etiquette, so if you can not abide by the following rules please don't register. These rides are fully supported with SAG and breakpoints. Basic rules for the ConocoPhillips training program: ·
Helmets
are required
(ANSI
or Snell approved). No helmet, No ride!
This is a NO EXCEPTIONS policy. ·
Always
sign in AND out with the training ride coordinator. The cost of this
year’s program is $95 for the entire 12 week series. This is
a huge savings compared to doing charity rides. (If you are a
ride marshal,
Please note that ride # 6 is a Sunday instead of the usual Saturday rides. Team Texas Children's is required to supply volunteers on the three dates highlighted in pink. The volunteers do not have to be registered riders; they can be family members, friends or co-workers. These volunteers will be SAG drivers along with breakpoint volunteers. One of the reasons that Team Texas Children's has been allowed to stay as part of this training series is that we have always supplied our volunteers when requested. Please don't make me beg for help. For each ride except for the beginner rides there is a short and long route. The two beginner rides are intended for riders that never have participated in a group ride before. The beginner rides are not for riders that participated in last year’s training series but have not been on there bike since, unless you are willing to ride very slow and mentor a new rider.
